of the Rings: Scenery
from all three movies can be visited without a
guide although several local tour operators offer
guided trips. Locations within a 10 minute to 1
hour drive from Beechwood Lodge.
Hobbits:
On their journey from Lorien to
Emyn Muil, the Fellowship paddled their elvish
boats down the River Anduin - the river is in
Fiordland and called The Waiau, located 10 mins
drive from Beechwood Lodge. A beautiful walking
track parallels the river. Kepler Track

Marshes: Scenery located at The
Kepler Mire, 15 minutes drive from Manapouri. And
the Norwest Lake near Lake Manapouri is where the
Fellowship left Rivendell.
Nen Hithoel and
Fangorn forest: Battle scenes
with Orcs, opening scenes
of The Two Towers - unmistakable scenery
surrounding the Mavora Lakes, located a one hour
drive from Beechwood Lodge.
