Kepler Track: access is a 10 minute drive from Beechwood Lodge. Take
a relaxing stroll or a choice of full-day / half-day hike options (map below).

The three day hike option traverses lake-edge, beech forest, alpine mountain tops and glacial valleys. Overnight hut accommodation must be booked in advance. A full range of hiking gear can be hired locally.

Heli - hike - boat return. Triple Buzz, Kepler Track. NZ$160 per person. Southern Lakes Helicopter trips.Triple buzz heli-hike a short flight by helicopter from Lake Te Anau to the Mt. Luxmore Hut is your starting point.

Round trip can take from 3hrs to 6hrs depending on whether you choose to climb to the summit of Mt. Luxmore before your return trip.

The Kepler Track hike is on a well formed trail through native beech forest all the way down hill to Brod Bay - your pick up point for the boat cruise back to Te Anau. Southern Lakes Helicopters

Southern Helicopters crew provide you with a map and a phone - to call them when you reach Brod Bay. Bring insect repellant, sun lotion, good footwear, lunch, good layers of clothing, rain-jacket, a torch to explore the limestone caves (optional).

Other hiking tracks: The Routeburn, Greenstone, Caples, Hollyford and Mavora Lakes and Lake Marion tracks are 1 to 1½ hrs drive from Beechwood Lodge. Day-return Milford Track walk highly recommended.
