Fishing attire that allows most comfort are thermal long-johns and shorts, quick drying pants also work fine. We provide felt-soled fishing boots. Regions & Rivers Equipment for those who plan to bring their own rods: a 6wt & weight forward floating line will work for most rivers. Polarized glasses are a must. Weather patterns / Temps can vary, we wear light-weight chest waders on rainy days and when fishing the evening hatch.

Non-fishing activities are plentiful and include:

• Doubtful Sound day / overnight cruise trips, the excursion departs just a short walk from Beechwood Lodge.

• Milford Sound day / overnight cruise with coach transport option.

• Glowworm Caves guided tour includes a lake trip and presentation show at the Department of Conservation.

• Milford Track independent or guided day-walk in a small group with transport provided.

• More activities include: horse-riding, kayaking, float plane and helicopter trips, golf, farm tours and many Hiking trails.

Non-fishing companions are welcome to accompany anglers where walking tracks exist. A reasonable level of fitness is needed as it is sometimes necessary to hike a few miles in the course of the day.

Beechwood Lodge is located in Manapouri on the edge of Fiordland National Park. It is a 2hr scenic drive south from Queenstown airport where direct flights/car rental can be arranged with international travel.

Biosecurity officers at New Zealand airports may take fishing gear to be disinfected if signs of mud or grass noted. Fly-tying materials may
