Fiordland captured out hearts many years ago as we searched for a place to build our lodge. And we found what we were looking for: breathtaking scenery in a beautiful, unspoiled environment.

Hospitality has been our life for 16 years after career changes from health-care and teaching. I was a Registered Nurse and Michael, an English Teacher. We have lived and worked in many countries while pursuing our love of : hiking, birdwatching, camping and flyfishing.

Manapouri is now our home; a very special corner of New Zealand on the edge of Fiordland National Park. Our residence is separate within the lodge and one of us is onsite at all times - attentive not intrusive. Welcome!
