nights at Beechwood and everything was perfect with lots
of lovely personal
touches. Spacious suite with huge rooms and lovely
bathrooms, the best bath I have had in years! Great
hosts, exceptional service without intruding on privacy
in any way; we felt totally relaxed and comfortable.
Amazing views and beautiful garden with lots of native
birds right at your door. Loved all the artwork and
decor. Just fantastic! Thanks so much to Angela and
Michael. Would definitely be a return destination.

location. We stayed 3 nights on our honeymoon.
The lodge that Angela and Michael built themselves is
beautifully crafted witih floor to ceiling views of Lake
Manapouri. The croissants/brownies/yogurts/cheeses/fruit
were delicious to have for breakfast and a snack.
The bed was the most comfortable of all the places we
stayed during our 2 week trip. The bathtub and
lovely toiletries and candles were wonderful and the
water pressure in the rain showerhead was perfect.
Angela booked the day trip on Doubtful Sound for us with
Real Journeys and even checked the weather
report that week to ensure that we chose a good day for
our cruise - and when we returned in the evening
she had refreshed our treats, and had candles lit for us
which was such a cozy return....
.... This
is a 2 bedroom lodge but they only book 1 party at a time,
leaving the entire lodge private for us.
The location on Lake Manapouri is more isolated than Lake
Te Anau but also more magical, mysterious,
and dramatic. Impeccably clean, extra-attentive service,
lovely and non-intrusive hosts, luxurious linens
and delicious refreshments in the most amazing setting.
We feel fortunate to have stayed here. It was
not inexpensive, but worth every bit." . . This

The next morning we hiked up Key Summit / The Divide - as
you know, it's breathtaking up there. We not
only enjoyed the views but also the walk at the summit
describing the eco-system with the rare alpine
vegetation and the lovely tarns. We wished we had time
for more..."
