Fiordland captured out hearts many years ago
as we searched for a place to build our lodge.
And we found what we were looking for: scenic views to enchant our guests and an unspoiled wilderness to explore and experience nature.

Hospitality has been our life for 16 years after career changes from medicine and academia. I'm
a Registered Nurse and Michael is an English Teacher. We have lived in many countries before settling down in New Zealand. Michael was born
in Pennsylvania and I'm from from Yorkshire.

Beechwood Lodge is located in the township of Manapouri, on the edge of Fiordland National Park - a World Heritage Area. Our residence is separate within the lodge and one of us is on-site at all times.

Manapouri is known for it's crystal clear lake surrounded by the mountains of Fiordland. Here, we found a place to pursue our love of hiking, flyfishing and Bird Watching a place to relax and watch the clouds go by.
