About Us Fiordland captured out hearts 20 yrs ago as
we searched for a place to build our lodge. And we
found what we were looking for: unspoiled wilderness,
protected native forests, beautiful rivers and lakes
and close-up views of snow-capped mountains to look out
upon.
Our love of travel has taken us to
many places to live and work: Tonga, Hong Kong, USA, UK,
Chile, France,
Argentina, Costa Rica and the Middle East. Our holiday
visits to Italy, Greece, Canada, India, Mexico,
Australia and many other countries has quenched our
wander-lust for travel.... for now that is!
Tourism is now our way of life after switching from
teaching and healthcare. Michael was an English Teacher
and I, a Registered Nurse. We built the lodge in 2000
using enviro friendly products and as light a "footprint"
as possible. Our residence is separate within the lodge
but we are always available if you need assistance
planning and booking your activiites. Our service is
attentive, not intrusive.
Eco-friendly practices
and
cleaning agents are used
to ensure an allergen free
Healthy House.Open year
round although
winter: June - Aug, is the
most scenic time to visit
it also the coldest.
